History
Don Bosco College Mannuthy which began as a youth centre in 1984 started offering Training in Computer and Electronics. Later, it developed into an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in 1994. The Computer and Management Studies of the University of Madras was started In 1996. It is the official Study Centre of the Institute for Distance Education for the University of Madras in the Kerala region.
Activities
1. Study Centre
The Study Centre offers three-year full time courses in BBA, BCA and MCA and contact classes for other courses of the University, like MBA, MSc Psychology. There are 115 students attending these courses.
2. Short term courses
The Parish taken care of by this community has classes for Spiritual Development, Tailoring, Embroidery and Typewriting Courses.
3. Reach out programmes
The Salesian co operators arrange regular monthly meetings and helps in the animation of local Don Bosco youth centres. There are 67 members who co ordinate visits to the government juvenile home and reach out to the people in the locality.
4. Youth Centre
There is a gymnasium and other games activities in which 45 youth take part.
