YADGIR

History

Through a letter dated the 27th August, 1996, the taluk of Yadgir was also entrusted to the Salesians by the Bishop of Bellary for initiating various developmental programmes for the poor.

Though the presence in Yadgir began in 1996, it was taken care of by Salesians living and working at Deodurga in the neighbournig Raichur District. On 23rd August, 2000, a farm was purchased with the idea of stabilizing our reachout activities. The extensive study done on the neighborhood villages revealed very pathetic situation with regard to education and skill training thus leading to low level of progress and development. The residence was inaugurated on August 16th 2002.
